Back again after a quarter of a century’s storage we welcome you to Smalltown – USA. The model offers a glimpse of US Railroading practice in the mid western states at a constant scale of 1/160th (continental N scale).
You’ll see a comprehensive display of freight and passenger movements mostly branded by the Pinetree & Western Railroad Corporation – the owners of the track. Locos and rolling stock of other US ‘roads’ will also be seen as per normal US practice. The period chosen is the 1970s and 1980s.
For the technically minded:-
DC analogue cab control with a radio controlled hand held unit for close up shunting and marshalling. Kaydee automatic coupling and uncoupling is employed. Behind the scenes, trains operate via a large sector plate for route selection with spur lines to hold locos. A comprehensive computerised display screen will provide the onlooker with information. All track work is Peco code 80.
