Model Railway Show

Cotswold Model Railway Show initially started in 2006 to raise funds for the Eastcombe Scout and Guide group, who needed to raise over £10,000 to improve their hall with access for the disabled and more structural work.

Phoenix Model Railway Club

Alan Postlethwaite approached Phoenix Model Railway Club to help, so three of the clubs layouts were taken to the show along with Alans own layout, ‘ Brockley Acres ‘.  The show was held in the Scout & Guides hall as their two rooms provided space for layouts to be exhibited. This show went very well raising over £1,000 pounds towards the hall improvements.

Gloucester Model railway Club

Since then the show has been increased in size by moving to Thomas Keble School, Eastcombe. This was a natural progression so the CMRS committee invited Gloucester Model Railway Club in 2007  to help supply layouts and to the organisation of the show. Now all three society’s share the proceeds, of which the majority of the funds go to improving the  Eastcombe & France Lynch Scouts and Guides.

Following the demise of the Phoenix Club when they lost their premises in 2009, the Cotswold Model Railway Show is now solely run by Gloucester Model Railway Club and Eastcombe Scouts and Guides.
